HGH Reconstitution Calculator

Turn your HGH dose in IU into syringe units.

This HGH reconstitution calculator works in IU, the unit growth hormone is dosed in. Enter the IU in your vial, the water you add and your dose. It opens on a 10 IU vial with 1 mL of water and a 2 IU dose: 20 units.

How many units do I draw for HGH?

If you have a 10 IU vial of HGH and add 1 mL of water, each mL holds 10 IU. A 2 IU dose is 0.2 mL, so you draw to 20 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. The vial gives 5 full doses.

For somatropin, 1 mg = 3 IU. If your label gives milligrams, multiply by 3 to get IU.

HGH IU to Units Chart

Units to draw for 1, 2 and 4 IU from the three common vial sizes. The highlighted card is the mix the calculator opens on.

On a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units is 1 mL. Units = dose in IU ÷ IU per mL × 100. For somatropin, 1 mg = 3 IU.

Typical HGH Doses and How Often

HGH (somatropin) is a prescription drug. For adults with growth hormone deficiency, doctors usually start around 0.2 to 0.4 mg a day, which is 0.6 to 1.2 IU, and adjust it based on IGF-1 blood tests.

Doses used outside a prescription are usually 1 to 4 IU a day, often 5 days on and 2 off. It is injected under the skin once a day, at the same time each day.

For the forms it comes in and how it is used, read the HGH 191AA guide.

How Much Water to Add to HGH

For a 10 or 12 IU vial, 1 mL of water is standard. At 10 IU that is 10 IU per mL, so 1 IU is 10 units.

A 36 IU vial needs more. In 1 mL, 1 IU is only 2.8 units, too small to read reliably. With 3 mL it is 8.3 units.

Run the water slowly down the inside of the vial and swirl gently. Do not shake it: growth hormone is a large protein and rough handling can damage it.

Worked Example in Units

You add 1 mL of water to a 10 IU vial. Each mL now holds 10 IU.

For 2 IU: 2 ÷ 10 = 0.2 mL, which is 20 units. The vial gives 5 doses. With a 12 IU vial and 1 mL, the same dose is 16.7 units.

Peptides dosed in mcg or mg, like CJC-1295 or ipamorelin, use the main peptide calculator instead.

Questions

HGH Reconstitution FAQ

How many units is 2 IU of HGH?

From a 10 IU vial mixed with 1 mL of water, each mL holds 10 IU, so 2 IU is 0.2 mL: 20 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. From a 12 IU vial with 1 mL it is 16.7 units.

How much water do I add to a 10 IU HGH vial?

1 mL is the usual amount. It makes 10 IU per mL, so every 10 units on the syringe is 1 IU. That keeps the arithmetic simple and the doses easy to read.

How do I convert HGH from mg to IU?

Multiply by 3. For somatropin, 1 mg = 3 IU, so a 4 mg pen or vial holds 12 IU and a 12 mg one holds 36 IU. To go from IU to mg, divide by 3.

How much water should I add to a 36 IU vial?

More than 1 mL. In 1 mL, a 1 IU dose is just 2.8 units, which is too small to measure well. With 3 mL the vial is 12 IU per mL, so 1 IU is 8.3 units and 2 IU is 16.7 units.

Is an IU of HGH the same as a unit on the syringe?

No. IU measures how much growth hormone you take. Syringe units measure volume: on a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 unit is 0.01 mL. How many syringe units one IU takes depends on how much water you added.

How long does a mixed HGH vial last?

A 10 IU vial gives 5 doses at 2 IU, so it is usually finished within a week or two. Keep it in the fridge and use it within the time on your product's label. Many somatropin products allow up to about 28 days once mixed.
